| - This is a mixed review. I'll get the bad stuff out of the way.
The store does a great job on the retail side. However, based upon my experience, some of the store employees are not trained in customer service, scheduling or in pool repairs/maintenance . . . but will act as if they are. This comes from multiple personal experiences.
I've been going to this store for over 20 years, but never used them for service/maintenance until three days ago.
I needed the sand (500 pounds) changed in my Hayward filter. There was a problem with the price. The store quoted one price and the contractor quoted a different, much higher price. When I called to straighten things out I was told that the first (smaller) price quote might have been from an old schedule, which changed at the beginning of the year. They promised to call me if the higher amount would be the price. They didn't call and the workman, alone, showed up to do the job.
Here's where the good stuff starts.
The pool guy's name is Johnathan. He assured me that the original price would be honored. Young fellow. Amiable, knowledgeable, personable, and hard working. He was very thorough and organized. He hauled out hundred pound buckets of old, wet sand and then loaded nine 50 pound bags of new sand without breaking a sweat. About three hours later he finished the work.
Jonathan also was a very good PR agent for the company. When he left my confidence was again re-established for B & L Pools.
The cherry on top just occurred. One of the B & L pools staff just called me and explained the confusion. Although there was a price change earlier in the year, they will honor the 2017 price. Did a nice job of soothing my ruffled feathers too. So, all is well again between me and B & L pools.
I recommend this company.
