| - Updated again: 01/14/14: The new V-8 Grill (window service) is fantastic and a great addition. The menu is basic bar type food...but the taste is WAY better! Ordered here twice; total of (3 different sandwiches, hot wings and the poppers) all were excellent. Service is always excellent as well. It appeared that they also do the food service for the free happy hour food, which was kept fresh and maintained.
08/24/13: Updating my review below: Came here for a beer bust..which could lead to long lines at the bar (considering my first review belwo). But I was surprised to find that the bartenders (& the owner who is usually working as well) grabbed all 4 cups and took them to the tap all at the same time. Things moved a little bit faster behind the bar whe pouring regular cocktails and there was basically no line at the bar while we were there. PROBLEM SOLVED! good job guys....I'm adding in one more star. :)
08/01/13: It's ok. It's clean. very clean to the point that I don't mind using the bathroom. A unicorn in the gay bars! It's like the clean cut american pie next door neighbor of gay bars. Perfect place to bring the straight friends & family. Brought my mom by here once.
well themed decor, Sports usually on the televisions and a digital jukebox, pool tables dart boards and shuffle board with some sort of 'munchie's' on the table by the door. It's very nice but also comes across as sterile. I guess that's why it was so easy to bring my mom here for happy hour... The drinks are cheap (by vegas standards) and the pours are decent (but aren't all gay bars heavier handed on their pours??).
My ONLY complaint has been the same since opening day. The staff is so dang slow! I've chaulked it up to them being a bit more 'green' when it comes to being a bartender. When you order a cocktail and two draft beers, what you find is that the bartender walks over grabs one mug, goes to the tab, watches it fill up, waslk over to you and puts it down, walks back over to grab a second mug, walks back to the tab, watches it fill up, then waslk over to you and puts it down, then goes over to get a glass and proceeds to make a drink pouring one bottle at a time getting it, pouring, putting it back, getting the other bottle, pouring it, putting it back, getting the juice, pouring it, putting it back. It's like watching a tennis match............light a fire under it boy! My friends and I are THIRSTY! Grab two mugs, turn that tap puppy on and fill them up with one hand while your making the drink with your other hand! you've got a full hopping bar with a line of people! It's a typical "newbie" thing, but service never has gotten any faster. But I expect it when I come here...so when I go I'm expecting it.
There's a lot of comments about how friendly the staff is. I haven't seen this. I mean, they aren't rude and they are nice and polite.....but I wouldn't say they are FRIENDLY. Maybe I'm just not their type ;)
I like the place and give it an A-OK and I'll go back for more. it's one of two bars on my stops, but it's not my favorite in town. Switch out clean and nice with a friendlier faster staff and you have the Fun Hog; my other stop in town. Thank god they are close to each other!
