| - Beautiful rooms, made to look like a super-expensive urban remodel. Warm & comfy seating in the bar, beautiful decor. Top notch service, wine selection and excellent food. (LOVED our waiter! He was extremely knowledgeable and was as memorable as the entrees!)
We were very graciously comped drinks after being seated in the dining room, as our table was not ready for close to 1/2 hour past our reservation time. (we did not complain about the wait)
My meal:
Pork Belly and green salad-- Actually an appetizer, but was served the same time as the others' salads. Delicious, crispy and salty on top, rich and luxurious below. Specials menu
Handmade (hand-cut) linguine with chanterelle mushrooms and truffle oil. As soon as it was placed in front of me, a sort of tunnel vision took over. Aromatic of course, loads of mushroom and perfectly cooked linguine. I loved the slight differences in thickness of the noodles. The server told me that shrimp may be added to this dish if desired (I did not). Specials Menu
Random Notes:
my friend announced: best crab cakes. EVER.
according to me- best calamari EVER, perfect seasoning, crispy batter, squid still soft and served with instantly addictive julienned, battered, deep fried lemon peel.
A visit from super-chef Greg Alauzen was a pleasant surprise.
We went to the cigar bar after dinner for more drinks, smokes and got to see the end of the Penguins game. The two husbands enjoyed their ($15 each) cigars and my closet-smoking friend got to enjoy a few cigs without freezing to death. I tolerated it and went home and febreezed my sweaters!
Loved it!
