| - I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place! Robert (the optician/owner) is amazing, their optometrist April was also very good and patient (especially concerning my difficult prescription following an eye surgery that I had a year ago).
Just to give you an idea of the experience you're going to get here... when you walk in, Robert might be busy making magic happen for his customers but if not he will patiently spend as much time as you need while you choose your frames (I'm perhaps one of the most indecisive people and he never made me feel awkward or bad about it.. in fact from the beginning he even told me that my old prescription is still okay, and that I don't really need to get new glasses - only a genuinely honest and good business owner would inform his customer that they don't need to spend money in his store! Bonus points for that). He even offered to get me a coffee while I was browsing the first time I went - because he was going to get one for himself, and I think at the moment, I was just reading some notes (I'm a student) waiting in his comfy couch seating area for my friend to come pick me up, he knew I wasn't going to buy anything that day - super nice guy! .. Anyway, when he realized that I wanted new frames for an aesthetic change, he was so passionate about showing me all his great frames, like Gucci and other new ones like Oliver Peoples, and he told me all about the different frames I asked about - there was a pair of other high-end designer brand I wanted that he didn't carry because he said the quality isn't as good as the name, but he was happy to call in a favour from a friend and order them for me at an awesome price, and finally after months (and 5 or more visits) of me being unable to decide what I wanted (while he fully knew that I was visiting other top optical stores in the area because I change my mind so much and wanted to look around and know exactly what all my options were), I was down to 2 beautiful pairs of Gucci glasses that I couldn't choose between, but he helped me make the best choice - and they're the best frames I've ever had.
So basically the entire experience was a great one, and the outcome was great, and overtime I go in I am made to feel like I'm part of the family. The only downfall is that sometimes he seems super stressed, or like he's had a bit too much coffee haha, but when you understand why, it'll only make you appreciate him more for it, because he is probably the most connected/know-all-the-best-things-in-the-city people in this city (in fact we were talking about doctors, because I'm a medical student and I mentioned something about my skin and he gave me the name and address of the 2 best dermatologists in the city - because one is too busy and takes a long time to get an appointment so he gave me another one too- he just knows everything, because he's such a people person and talks to everyone and spends time with everyone) and he goes way above and beyond for his customers so I feel he's always reaching out to different resources to get the best possible deal and products for his customers - I've also seen him advocate for patients in a way that would make you think he knew them, like yesterday some girl that had clearly never been there before came in with a broken blood vessel, and even though he's not an optician, he said that he thinks it's a minor broken blood vessel and he doesn't think that she needs to go to the ophthalmologist but he will let his optometrist see her quickly for no charge just to get his opinion, and he too said it's probably just a broken blood vessel but advised her to go to a clinic just to be sure, so Robert sent her off to the fastest, shortest wait-time clinic where she wouldn't have to wait as long... because he somehow knows everythingggg! (at least from what I've observed during my multiple browsing sessions at his boutique) - you'll definitely notice that he'll give a bit more time and effort for his customers than probably any other optician I've seen in the city... in fact a few months ago there was some famous football player in there and he was buddy buddy with him, (and since I know nothing about sports, I just wondered who he was, but Robert introduced me to him) and then was telling me after that he lives in the states but whenever he's back in the city he comes to get his glasses or whatever he needs from here, and just yesterday I went to pick up some contact lenses and I overheard one of the girls saying (poor Robert, he still hasn't eaten lunch... and it was 3:30pm). Basically, you will not regret you decision to come here, just be a little bit patient because there's only so much Robert to go around, and he tends to be super busy in the afternoon, but if you call and ask when he's less busy, he'll tell you and give you "priority" at that time. Just go, he's excellent... and finally, I can confidently say he'll get you the best price in the city - trust me!
