  • This is a renovated property so, honestly, I was concerned that it had gone downhill after the chain change. Nope! It is better. Way better. The location is great as it is easy to get to and has an attached parking garage so you don't have to get wet if it is raining. However, you will pay an additional $15 per night for parking. The lobby area is updated and looks great. The colors are calming but uplifting at the same time. Checking was smooth and efficient. My wife made the reservations and forgot to tell the my standard - end of hall - request so I was worried that it would be too noisy being located right beside the elevator on the 8th floor. Not so. I hardly noticed any outside noise. The pictures others have posted about the property are accurate but fail to capture the clean lines and openness that you feel in the room. Another reviewer had issues with her keys but we did not. Worked like a charm. Rooms have an in-room safe that also worked well. The bathroom is probably one of the best lit I have experienced in a hotel. One cool little extra is that there is a built in night light behind the mirror in the bathroom. Nice. Water pressure and temperature were good and you have the standard amenities available in the bathroom. Also, the towels were large and soft. The room had two queen size beds with very nice pillows. Ample lighting. Two plugs on the lamp beside the bed ensures you have a place to plug in devices. The room also had a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and hair dryer. Oh, one cool thing is that you have free wifi unlike some other hotels near by. Another great benefit of this property is the free breakfast. Bacon, eggs, and all sorts of normal continental style stuff. And for you tea lovers, they have a high quality hot tea available. Although we didn't eat a full meal in the restaurant, my wife did order a side of mashed potatoes and said they were definitely home made. Overall a very nice property. Next time I am in Charlotte I will be there!
