| - I'll be honest: I'm not a gamer or a geek. A nerd, yes, but I am not the typical consumer for a shop like Netherworld. That said, on both of my visits to Netherworld I've been treated first as an outsider and later as though I didn't even exist. I don't think I'll be making a third visit.
Both times I stopped in were with friends who are interested in their goods; once in college and then more recently as an adult. In college I got the "why are you here?" attitude, but since I didn't particularly want to be there I didn't really give it much thought. On my last trip, though, I was more interested but completely ignored. The person working the counter didn't greet us, ask if we had any questions, or offer to help us with anything. It's a small shop and there was just a small game happening at one of the tables; it's not like we snuck in unnoticed.
Even though I don't know a lot about the items in the shop, there are many more places in town that are interested in helping me learn and making me feel welcome. If you're part of the gaming community already, you may have a better experience. If you're a newbie like me, you might want to consider another stop.
