I liked this show a lot. My husband loved it so much he declared it his favorite show so far. Because there's a billion reviews, I'm not going to go into huge descriptive details about this show. I agree with the reasons why it is such a good show. The theater (not a bad seat in the house), the scenery, the acrobatics, water ballet, and all the high diving were all impressive. Made me think I was watching a live Esther Williams water show! She would have been thrilled to watch this. Everything was gorgeous.
Mind you I have not seen "O" so I can't say which one I like better. However, as Joanne has said, we did not get the story. We thought it could be someone's dream, but the goodbye scene made me think of Alice in Wonderland. We're still trying to figure out what it was about.
What I really felt was a huge weakness for this show and the single reason I am not giving it 5 stars was how the show treated the musicians and the singers. They were locked up in a cage and you could barely see them. The singers were in a little booth again, blocked from full view. Live music is one of the primary reasons I see shows. The music in this show was beautiful, why not show off their talent?
