  • I would like to write a good review about Sophie's and I'm sure it is a wonderful place to purchase lingerie, but I just had an experience there that will ensure I do not return. I had never been in but had heard many good things about this store. I had mentioned to my husband that I would like to go there one day. Well, wonderful man that he is, he ventured there by himself to buy me a Christmas/birthday gift of a lovely bra/pantie set. Not too many men would do that. He was served by a very helpful young woman called Dona and found something he knew I would like. Having taken a look at one of my bras for a size, he purchased one that should have fit. Unfortunately it was too tight even after adjusting the straps. Unwisely I had removed the tags but I kept them all as well as the packaging and receipt. I returned to the store to exchange it for another size and was served by a different woman as well as the woman I assumed to be Sophie herself. Sophie fitted me with the same bra in a different size and I took it up to the desk to exchange it. The other woman showed me the first bra and told me that it had been worn and that they do not take returns when they had been worn. I was astounded. I had that bra on for no more that 5 minutes, if that. I had adjusted the straps and you could see where the previous mark on the strap was. She also pointed out what she said was white residue on the under arm area... I don't use deodorant ...ever. I have never been accused of anything such as this and my integrity was so insulted I was speechless. Sophie, bless her brusque heart, overheard this and told her to 'Give the lady the exchange'. I left feeling incredibly debased, insulted and blatantly falsely accused of something I would never do.
