For starters, I don't think every bride knows how wedding gown shopping goes. I certainly didn't. I wasn't aware that an appointment was required to try on a wedding gown. I've gone pageant gown shopping many times and never faced this issue.
My mother and I went here since we were shopping in the same shopping center and saw the store. There were 3-4 employees working, and zero customers in the store. They said hello to us and to let them know if we needed anything as we looked around. They looked concerned as we walked through looking at dresses.
My mom really wanted me to try on a couple dresses and one of the employees made it very clear to me that it was an inconvenience to them that we ask to try on anything without an appointment, even though the store was empty of customers. I'm glad my mom didn't hear what the employee said to me because she would've been extremely upset and walked out of there after exchanging some unfriendly words.
The woman that pulled the two gowns I wanted to try on made me feel bad for being there without an appointment. It was no longer an enjoyable experience but I put on a smile for my mom so she wouldn't know what was going on.
A different lady came over to help with getting the gowns on in the dressing room. She was friendlier once I think she realized I really liked the most expensive dress they had (she even told me it was the most expensive dress).
The selection was limited, however I loved the color selection with bridesmaid dresses. But because of my experience I felt that my money on bridesmaid dresses could be spent elsewhere.
I went to Celebrations and had an entirely different experience. Very friendly, helpful, and didn't make me feel like I was a problem.
Sales associates at this store: you should realize not every bride is given a rule book on how to begin gown shopping after she is proposed to. Be friendlier, it's supposed to be an enjoyable and fun experience!
