  • Ive never personally had an issue until today. I am an Olympic lifter and crossfitter. I chose to come to Lifetime because it was not only close to my house but they had Olympic lifting platforms as well. These platforms are built to withstand the weight Olympic lifters often utilize while performing their lifts. Today, I was told "not to drop the bar." For people who do not lift heavy this is not an issue, but for Olympic lifters who can have hundreds of pounds over their head, this puts you at an increased risk of injury. It is not easy to "guide the bar down" and keep it from bouncing "more than once". I was astounded at what I was told by the manager after performing light snatches qhich made barely any noise. I was spoken to by a manager who later apologized for handling the situation the way she did. However, after quickly and rudely telling me not to drop my bar, she ushered a personal trainer to come talk to me because she saw and heard how angry I was. The supervisor was right behind me and didn't even take the time to talk to me. Instead, he quickly told me not to drop the weights and didnt even try to explain toe his reasoning. When the trainer came to talk to me she understood where I was coming from and even agreed that the managers don't know what they're talking about. The bottom line: do not come here if you are thinking about choosing this gym to take the place of your crossfit or Olympic lifting gym. They have the gear to attract this clientele, and it is frustrating that they have explicitly said that they care more about the family dynamic instead of trying to make the masses happy. This company should be doing something to satisfy the needs of every one of their clients. Hence why we are paying $145 a month for membership. The lack of care for the members who chose this gym to utilize the platforms to their fullest frustrates me the most. The lack of care and attention by management to correct and find a solution to this problem blows my mind. With many more complaints about this same issue, you would think they would at least attempt to find a solution to this problem, but Instead they continue to put this clientele on the back burner. Lifetime, this is a gym. Not a resort, no matter how much you try to create that type of atmosphere. If you're priority clientele cannot handle the banging of weights dropping on a designated platform which are there for a reason, then maybe you should suggest earphones or another gym to those members. A gym is meant to be loud. People are working out. It's no louder than people benching or dropping dumbells from the slightest of heights. After today, I on the verge of ending my membership.
