Deep in the bowels of Terminal four, on the Western most edge of one of my favorite Airports, and just past the D security check point is Peet's.
Despite having some serious food competition in the area, (La Grand Orange, Barrio Queen, a high end Taco shop), I opted to grab a pre-flight meal here and came away very satisfied. They have a small number of hot sandwiches and I chose the chicken pesto panini. The cheerful and polite young lady behind the counter told me the sandwich was "pre-made" so my expectations dropped to the floor like an early Mike Tyson opponent. However the food was quite tasty, actually had grill marks on the substantial sandwich with a generous amount of both chicken and pesto. I grabbed a pre-packaged rice-krispy treat for dessert and got out of there for under $11.
They have a great seating area, both nice leather chairs or a long communal table to do some work at. I noticed a couple of reviews mentioned there is no Starbucks close by but that isn't exactly accurate. If you take the moving sidewalk west, the very next gate area has one if that's what ails ya. Peet's has everything you need at less-than captive pricing you'd expect at an airport, Thanks for a pleasant lunch!
