My senior dog was seen for years at Banfield as we had a plan with them. One day during regular exam the vet felt a lump by his anal sac. She was very concerned and sent us right to a specialist. We paid nearly $700.00 to get a diagnosis of anal sac carcinoma. It is a very lethal form of cancer. His only hope was surgery. We were referred to another specialist who wanted $5,000 to do the surgury and then we were also referred to an Oncologist for Chemotherapy treatment, who said to expect to pay around $3,000. We were considering these costs although we couldn't afford them. I started to do research and that's when I found out that Arrow Animal Hosrital did anal sac surgery and made an appointment with Dr Sherrill. He was awesome! He ended up doing the surgery for $1,500 and allowed us to pay 1/2 and make monthly in-house payments with no interest! He ended up sending the tumor out to lab and they confirmed clean margins! He then prescribed a low dose Medtronic dose of chemo that only cost us 40.00 a month through pet health pharmacy! My dog tolerated it well and has now been in remission for 2 1/2 years! Is being treated for arthritis now with expert care! Bottom line, had we not found them, my dog wouldn't be here today, or we would still be in dept! Most places won't treat if you can't pay but Arrow will accept payment plan in house! They even have signed posted to ask about their in-house no interest payment plan. No other vets allow this! Iam posting this to share my experience and to know that if your dog is facing a crisis, there is hope! We are forever grateful to the staff there and Dr. Sherrill!! I also do give Kudos to Banfield for discovering the lump as for not that very thorough exam, the lump would have never been discovered. But they were limited in their treatments and refer to expensive specialists once there is a problem!
