Horrible experience. I generally like Petsmart but after my dog suffered an accident at this location.. I don't feel happy taking my dog here anymore.
So from time to time petsmart will host events for dogs and I attended their Halloween event in October. There was a photo booth area where we could show off our dog in costume and have it's picture taken. I have a small 6 pound Pomchi so when I placed her on the table (which was set up as the photo booth) she started to walk around on the table and sniff the area around her. Next thing I know my dog is falling through a huge opening in the table and luckily she was wearing her harness and leash so I quickly grabbed it as she dangled right above the ground. If it hadn't been for me grabbing her leash she would have hit the floor bad.
It amazes me how Careless a staff member could be to cover up an opening on the table. The whole table was covered with a cloth when the opening should have been exposed so our dogs know not to walk right Into it. After this happened the girl (staff member) left the opening uncovered but it was too late. My dog for sure hit herself against the legs of the table and, after that happened, she was noticeably frightened and her behaviour was slightly off.
Ever since the incident, my dog has lost hair all over her back and I thought it was a reaction to something like her food but someone that works at a vet clinic told me that some dogs lose hair due to trauma or something going on inside their body. So my poor dog isn't doing too well and I will be taking her to the vet to do a complete examination. Pet smart is lucky my dog didn't suffer a severe injury. Nonetheless, there were consequences for my dog which could have been prevented if Petsmart took the time to properly train it's employees or have a supervisor review the set up for the event.
Truly truly horrible and it's sad my dog had to go through such an experience on a day that was suppose to be about her.
