| - This place is very unprofessional. I live about twenty minutes away. One time I got there at exactly 8:50, and the seafood department refused to sell to me. They said they were closed, even though closing time wasn't for ten minutes. It wasn't just one guy who refused me, it was a group of them...all I wanted was some shrimps, it involved reaching into a tank and just scooping the shrimps. After asking about five guys to see if any of them has a decency to get me what I needed to make dinner, before every other Asian markets in the valley closes, I left empty handed.
I called the manager the next day to see if this unprofessional business conduct is isolated to just the fish department and its employees or whether it is normal business practice for them. My phone call ended with a girl who spoke in broken English, telling me to come earlier because 8:30 is when they start cleaning up. I then politely told her that is not going to work for me, and that is not how things are suppose to work. I don't know though folks, maybe deep down inside what she really wanted to say was "I will hold my employees to a more professional standard and make sure they follow store hours". Maybe she didn't know how to say it and something got lost in translation.
Either way, change your damn hours Mekong supermarket. If need be, drop me a message and will write up some signs for you.
