  • I have never left a negative review before but this organization definitely warrants one. We moved here two months ago and our daughter recommended this office. We met with the PA Mike and several of the nurses and found them to be competent and pleasant. However, the front office leaves a lot to be desired. The first face you see if of someone who gives the impression you are bothering her. Also, my husband and I have two different health insurances. There was an issue with mine so I paid cash for the appointment. This was no fault of the office. Later when the issue was cleared up I called the office to get an "itemized bill with the medical code" for the visit so I could submit to my insurance and get reimbursed. I was told that they had no way of doing this, but did offer to submit the original visit to my insurance company and then send me back what the company paid them. This was a very acceptable alternative. However, when my husband went back for his second appointment he was immediately handed an itemized statement with medical code showing that the insurance had not yet paid his costs. So they can provide itemized statements but simply chose not to do so for me. Also, I should point out that he did not even receive a hello but was simply handed the statement and rudely told he owed money and the lady in question didn't even keep her voice down. I understand that they need to be paid but sometimes insurance companies can be slow and they could have been a little more polite. Two days ago we were in a car accident and the paramedics suggested we just get an appointment that day to have our doctor look us over. I called for the appointment and was totally shocked when I was told by the front desk person, "we don't do accidents". It wasn't even said pleasantly. Just very curt and officious. I asked to speak with the practice manager and was passed over to Stephanie who was somewhat more pleasant but adamantly told me the same thing, "we don't do accidents". She recommended another organization and gave me their number. I called only to find out that it was an hour away. Did she really expect two people who had just been in a car accident to drive one hour to be seen. We ended up at the St Rose Emergency Room and were very happy with the service. So to sum up: this is definitely not "family care" as they pick and choose what conditions they treat; the front desk staff need to understand that a smile and a pleasant word goes a long way. I am sure they are competent but customer service is very important especially in the medical field. I absolutely would not recommend this office and will try to get my daughter to move to another office. Thank you for "listening".
