Nick's has been in Midwood for as long as I can remember. My dad used to go there and I remembered him saying good things
Decades later... I had a car that started getting older and I needed a good old fashioned neighborhood mechanic that can do anything, is honest, no frills, and affordable.
Well after going there 5 times now, I am sold.
The prices have been very reasonable. The other day they made repairs to my brakes and they recommended tires immediately. I took their advice and got tires the next day. The tire shop did something to one of my brakes and it was scraping, the car was taking a lot of time to stop. It was scary enough that I thought I better take it straight to someone I trust -forget the tire shop. I'd rather pay someone to fix it right than risk my life at that other place.
I took it to Nicks and they assured me it was an easy fix but would have to fix it in the morning. When I picked up the car, they just handed me the keys and said they appreciated my business. How do you argue with that! On the road again.
