It's rare to find good raw vegan pastries in this part of town. Luckily, Mylk Uncookies' offers a variety of them and I can vouch that the bite sized cashew cookies are delicious. Owners Toni and Elaine's fresh daily in-house made organic almond milk sells out so quickly that the 48 hour shelf-life doesn't really mean much. If a batch is made that morning, you'd be lucky to get some by midday. In fact, I have even yet to try any of this rumoured deliciousness myself. The espresso is made from the couple's pride and joy centerpiece machine and the well-curated selection of specialty tea blends is fun to sniff and pick from too.
The blown up vintage photos on the walls of Toni's parents back in Italy add some nostalgia and old school charm to an otherwise cool and sparse decor scheme. Fine details such as how the rubber heat resistant ring around the matching mugs make holding on to your piping hot beverage a lot easier. Their assortment of design magazines and books about Canadian living are fun to flip through too.
