  • I'm not entirely sure that this is part of the same group of Caldense bakeries around the city, but I decided to hit this one while in the area on a Sunday afternoon. Had the mochaccino which tastes like it should from a European eatery - fresh espresso, rich chocolate, real milk frothed crema, no syrup junk. Chose the Tiramisu Tulipa and a rum ball for pastries, also fairly well made versions as opposed to North American chain production crap. The staff seem to be family members, some of whom aren't quite fast yet but polite and pleasant enough. What made me think it may not be the same group as some of the other locations was the difference in price. Paid $15.35 for the 2 mochaccinos and pastries, which was reasonable, but not as wonderfully cheap as the Caldense I went to previously. You can see it's a local favourite from the bustling tables and constant line-up, very much like a local European bakery. Very everyday feel, basic decor, nothing at all fancy. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back like the other location I've visited, but would certainly return if I happened to be in the area again.
