on the outside of the sliver of a window that grows from the sidewalk of queen street at carlaw is printed "delta records" in red lettering. but this place is called "rics collectibles". the only way to know that is to check out the handwritten sandwich board on display out front. or go inside.
a couple of steps downstairs and you have a basement filled with records mostly. the other formats for music are there, but i neednt tarnish this places name by even mentioning those lesser forms.
indeed the guy at the front was all too eager to talk to me about the beauty of the vinyl sound and he kept teasing the cds on the shelves. their cases started cracking. as they apt to do.
there are sections of the store that have a dozen or so books on music, a reel to reel antique, some amps and the record sections are divided by, well, records with the names of bands on them.
for a place thats easy to pass by and not notice this place seemed to be busy. there were at least three or four people that came by as i was talking to the musicman up front.
some of them had even brought their own record bags.
old school + new school.
coooool.
