I had no idea what I was getting into today. I was a ballerina for like 1 minute when I was 8 years old, so I spent the afternoon trying to remember what exactly a ballerina does, anyway ...
I'm certain I was not working THAT hard at 8 years old! I was sweating like crazy after just a few minutes of class. I loved that all of the movements were very targeted and specific to certain muscles. I was holding positions until my legs were shaking like crazy and I thought I would fall. I was so proud of myself at the end!
I'm a yogi, so there were a few moves that felt comfortable for me. The bridge series, the pushups and plank ... those were great, and I was able to build on my practice and push myself tonight. Some of the other holds felt so weird (I kept having to put my feet back in place for second position; my knee does not want to go that way!) but It felt like a good reset for my body.
I also loved the positive reinforcement and help from the ladies running the class. Both were so nice, friendly, and helpful with giving instruction. I thoroughly enjoyed myself tonight!
