| - I have been to Madison Avenue 5 times. First time was Ahwatukee location and it was the best haircut ever. The girl was incredible. I called for my 2nd appointment and she was gone. Major bummer. I went to the Fulton Ranch location and the same girl who cut my hair also gave me a pedicure during a Groupon deal a month earlier. Thought it was a little weird that a hair stylist would also be a licensed nail tech... Anyway, she took forever to cut my hair and then, when she was all done, she attacked me with thinning shears. EEEK! I have LOTS of LONG fine hair that has natural wave to it. She absolutely ruined my hair. I left, in tears. That was December of 2011. For Christmas, my husband gave me a $100 gift card for Madison Ave. Great. No refunds. I called for a haircut in May which gave me time to grow out my problem haircut from December. The girl who cut my hair agreed it was a horrific job and i should continue to come to her and she will fix it but it could take a year at least. The cut was good but I still had major problems. I visited her again 3 months later. She was 45 minutes late for my appointment, said she was counselling a friend. I don't know what happened but I didn't recognize her. She looked like a druggie who was up all night. Tats everywhere, no make up, short hair back in a head band. Dirty clothes. Looked like she just got out of jail. Then she started to talk about looking for a home but would never live in Chandler/Gilbert area because everyone is a redneck, racist teabagger who flies American flags in their yards. I bit my tongue as I thought about the flag in my yard at my Chandler home and took her ridiculous comments. When I got to the desk, without even asking, my bill was 50% what it should have been. Great, more money to spend on the damn gift card. I went to the Chandler Mall to get another haircut in October. Beautiful girl cut my hair but again, got a terrible cut. After all this time and all this money, I have decided to give up on Madison Ave, even though I still have $13 on the gift card. Incidentally, I recently went to Great Clips on Queen Creek and Alma School and Myra fixed my problems caused by Madison Ave. Sure, I lost a lot of length but everything is now even and it is easier to style and looks great.
