| - The initial psychiatry appt we booked for our son we did online. They had no record of an appt when we arrived and the doctor had already left for the day. Ok, I'm irritated but mistakes happen. It's explained that the person who knows how to get into the online appt system has been out of the office for a week. Why they only have one person who knows how to do this is beyond me but whatever. So, we reschedule. We finally meet with the dr and she seemed great. We go on vacation and our son's behavior goes downhill so we attempt to reach out to the dr for help. We don't hear back from her the entire week just her office staff who can't help us. We're also needing bloodwork results and I've already had to have the lab fax over the results twice because the ladies in the office can't seem to get the paperwork from the fax machine to his file. So, while we're on vacation, we decide to book an appt with the doctor for right after our return. I book it online again per the instructions on their voicemail. We call a couple of days later and there's no record of us booking the appt - really??? Two times now. We book the appt while we're on the phone so we know it's good. We show up and we notice that she's pulling people back when it's our appt time. I ask the lady at the desk how far behind she's running and it's about 30 minutes. Understandable if she's been there since 8am but she starts her day at noon. How are you already 30 minutes behind in less than two hours. Our appt was suppose to be for 1:50pm. I ask again about the bloodwork results and one of the ladies behind he desk pulls it out and tells me she can't read them and we'll have to talk with the doctor. I tell her we can't seem to get the dr to return phone calls and her response to me is just astounding. She tells me that the dr doesn't personally return phone calls, she has her staff do it. What good does this do me if your staff can't answer my questions?!?! Ok, so we have to reschedule this appt since we can't stay for this one since she's running too late. In the mean time, we're still trying to figure out the bloodwork results. Remember when I wrote that the lady had them in her hand yesterday but just couldn't read them? Well, I speak with a different woman today and she tells me that the dr couldn't look at the results because they're not in his chart. WHAT THE HECK????? She starts to ask me to have the lab fax over the results and I cut her off, telling her that I won't do that as I've already had the lab fax them over TWICE. She had us do his bloodwork weeks ago. What if all this time, he's had toxic levels in his system? I'm so pissed. I also ask the woman if the drs average appt time is 15 minutes, does she do anything longer? She tells me she doesn't. How can you have proper therapy with someone in 15 minutes? This tells me she's just in it to dole out meds. So, needless to say, we're switching doctors.
Just an add on - had our final appt with the doctor today and explained why we were leaving and, although, she was apologetic, she really didn't accept responsibility, only that she was handling it and certain persons upfront were getting let go. She had read the above review and felt we were blaming her unnecessarily. She did wish us luck in finding another child psychiatrist but the good ones don't accept insurance, we'd have to pay out of pocket. She admitted she was not aware we had been trying to reach her until she read the Yelp review. I know she was thinking this should excuse her but it's her office, her staff. The fact that she isn't aware of what's going on up front with her own office personnel doesn't make it better. Lastly, she had patient files sitting out in plain view on the table in front of my husband and myself, one of the files, we could read the patient's name. I'm not sure if this is a privacy act violation but I will be reporting this to the proper authorities.
