| - After losing my cat to a stroke. I went out searching for another cat to adopt. I went from rescue to rescue and ended up here late in the evening. Adopted two cats from their Petsmart location, at Power and McKellips. Found two realyl sweet cats. Petsmart was extremely accommodating, but! One cat was sniffling funny through her nose. I was assured that this was normal and nothing to be concerned with. They were lied to by the rescue ppl. After getting her home she started vomiting almost every day. Took the cat to the vet, the vet told me that I needed a CT Scan. I contacted the owner of Furever friends and because of the cost and I had already bonded with the cats, she said she'd pay for half. Had the CT done and found out the cat had a deviated septum. This causes sinus drainage. The only way this could have happened if the cat had been hit in the face as this didn't start until a year ago after reviewing the cats records. I hate ppl who abuse cats. Because of the cost involved, Nancy the owner of Furever friends said she would pay half and committed to this prior to having the CT Scan done.
Then the other cat was limping so I took him into get an X-ray. Nancy the owner of Furever friends told me to check the paws to make sure the cats nails weren't too long. Well after examining the cat, the cat had no claws. I got on X-ray on the cat as well to be sure there wasn't any broken or fractured leg. This was another expense. The cat not having claws wasn't even mentioned as one of the physical attributes of the cat. Nancy doesn't examine her animals and as a tendency to pass of sick cats. The cat also had some tumors on different parts of the body. The cats are too attached to me as I am to them. I didn't have the heart to give them up. But Nancy didn't keep her end of the deal up. After spending $1200 + on the cats, Nancy calls to tell me after I sent her a copy of the bill, that she didn't have the money to help me! This was extremely upsetting to hear. As I have a father I care for in CA. So I have money going out in all sorts of directions.
I ended up having to put the one cat on RX food, purchased from the vet which is very expensive to try to get the vomiting under control. If I can't get the vomiting under control my Dr. Recommended having more test done and or if the cat keeps losing weight and starts having other complications I'll have to have her put down. I just went through a very emotional time after losing my cat of 4 yrs that I rescued to a stroke. It about did me in. To have to repeat this again, wld be devastating to me. My little girl is a rather big cat but extremely under weight at 8 lbs. Does she care, no!!
Before you adopt from her I'd really have the cats checked out before taking the animals at her expense!! Nancy isn't an ethical person. What she does with these animals isn't fair to the people adopting them, by passing off sick animals.
