First time at Crews and Tangos last night. Interesting hang out place. First time ever at a gay bar and I was very impressed by how friendly everybody is and how attentive the drag queen was to newcomers.
We went on a weekday for our friend's going away party, no line up and no cover charge on weekdays. When you first walk up the steps, you'll notice the security checks your ID, and your purse to make sure no drinks are brought inside (he saw my water bottle sticking out of my purse and told me to throw it away in the garbage).
Walking in, you'll see the stage on your left, and the bar to your right. At the back is the door to the large and very nice patio.
The show started soon after, and we kept commenting on how great the drag queen is and how he was more feminine and attractive than many females. He was very energetic and very entertaining. Being a newbie, I had to ask whether the next one on stage was a boy or girl (I really couldn't tell).
Later at night, I started getting hungry. Asked around for the menu but was surprised there was none (especially since it was called Restaurant & Bar). Eventually, I was pointed to the girl next to the barbeque where she quoted me $5 for a hot dog, and $15 for frozen chicken wings. So we left for some place else to eat. Definitely not a good place for eating.
Overall we had a great time there. Great music and dance. Recommended to anyone looking for a fun and interesting show!
