| - Celebrated a bday dinner here for the girlfriend while also staying a couple nights here at the Hermosa as well.
The staff was fantastic both at the Last Drop bar & for Lon's table service, very courteous & knowledgeable.
The food is actually reasonably priced, but not as "cutting-edge" as they advertise on their website.
During the first evening the fish tacos at the bar were overcooked and dry, but the drinks were decently crafted and there is a fun selection of tequila and mezcal.
For dinner we skipped the starters & dove right into the side and entrees:
Mac & cheese, broccolini, & mashed potatoes all of which were well made, flavorful, and pretty much what you would traditionally expect.
After having overcooked fish the first night i decided to skip the halibut that was tempting me & went with the pecan grilled filet, cooked blue rare with no char. Came out great & paired well with our 2 bottles of Hall Cabernet. (Speaking of which, the wine list pricing is excessive. Many of which are marked up 3x retail)
The bday girl ordered the Wagyu strip also blue rare, no char, but it came out med rare. Thankfully, it was such a great piece of meat that it was still very enjoyable cooked further than desired so there wasnt a need to send it back.
Another guest of ours ordered the short ribs, which were very flavorful and their plate was cleaned spotless so apparently the polenta was also pretty tasty.
The charcuterie plate is probably one of the best you'll ever have since their prosciutto is made (& aged) in house in their cellar. So spicy & delicious.
The cowboy candy bar & peach desserts were fun desserts to cap off a very good meal on their romantic garden patio.
