| - You know the saying "nothing is perfect". I agree, but people choose to continue their pursuits of perfection and that to me is what I feel about Perfect Scoop. Homemade ice creams, waffle cones, and macaron shells, whats not to love in a local dig?
I feel that on that pursuit of perfection there are a lot of experiments, and in this case, its with my ice cream. Some experiments turn out well such as vegan ice cream, some others, not so well. Macaron ice cream sandwiches have been a recent dessert food trend for the past few years, as well as cookie ice cream sandwiches, and boba becoming mainstream. While Perfect Scoop does a great job with their homemade ice creams and honestly does not have a flavor that I don't like, I feel that it fall shorts everywhere else.
The boba is below average at best but the real hit or miss is the macaron ice cream sandwiches. The difference between the pioneers of the macaron ice cream sandwich and Perfect Scoop is the execution. I've had hard crunchy macaron shells and soft chewy ones, but most times the ice cream explodes out after a single bit (once before I even had a bite). Perhaps they should have them made in advance, because I would love to have my ice cream stay in my sandwich.
I hope Perfect Scoop stays on their path towards perfection because they got something going here, but just the execution is off.
