| - Let me start by saying that the Saguaro staff gets five stars. They're friendly and attentive and do their best to ensure one has a comfortable, well-accomodated stay.
My room, however, was a dirty dump. The bathroom tub had stained grout and filthy light switches. My platform bed was dusty and had dried something or another on the footboard. There was a hair in my sink.
The room was uncomfortable, too, aside from the dirty-framed bed. It had nowhere comfortable to sit, only two hard chairs and a rolling desk chair. My patio set-up wasn't any better: a hard plastic Ikea chair and matching table. (I guess the management figures you're going to spend all your time at the pools and spa.) The air conditioner was so loud it kept me awake, and the sliding glass door didn't have a screen, so I had to keep it closed.
Room decor is bright and tacky. Neon-loud primary colors aren't my aesthetic, and they're much brighter in person than as pictured on the website. There's no mini-fridge for your own food and drink. The restaurant, Distrito, was meh, but I'm spoiled because I live in the East Bay and it's a foodie's heaven.
I'm glad I got a deal on the Saguaro because it's definitely not worth the going rate of $130-$250 a night. $70, maybe, and that's pushing it.
Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
