The Highlands Apartments are an affordable option in the North Scottsdale area. There is ample parking for visitors. The area is quiet, safe, and maintenance requests are responded to quickly. One of the major reasons I am leaving is the cheaply-done renovations (instead of chrome door knobs, they painted black knobs with silver paint. The toilet paper roll falls off the wall constantly, I barely get AC in my bedroom, although maintenance has "fixed it". The hardwood floor is peeling up near the edges, the washing machine and dryer have RUINED a large portion of my wardrobe and when the clothes come out of the 1980's dryer, they smell like vomit. I use a lot of fabric softener and fabric sheets to cover up the vomit smell. The dishwasher barely washes and it's not worth using. At least once a month I come home and there is a HUGE stench (like rotten eggs) coming out of the closed dishwasher. I have to run the dishwasher empty with soap, open all the windows and turn on all the fans to get the stench out. But overall, the girls do a nice job keeping up the property and handling tenant requests. I particularly love that they celebrate holidays, it's really unique and makes my day.
