| - I had a great experience here. This place is beautiful first of all. While most schools look like harshly lit warehouses, Kohler looks like a really fancy salon with great contempo designs. My stylist was Sabrina, and also another girl since her appointment cancelled. The idea of having 2 people work on you simultaneously may sound scary, but made the process about half as long. As someone who hates sitting still through an entire hair appointment, I loved that!
Unlike a lot of other schools I have been to, the instructors were always around. They really listened to what I wanted and made sure we were all on the same page about everything; the color, the cut, the process, even the cost. I never had a moment of doubt or fear like I sometime do at the schools (even though it usually looks ok in the end) and I was so happy with how great my hair turned out.
The price was great too, I think $70 for cut, color, and color toning. Their hours are also great, I was able to make an appt for 6 PM. I have never been to another school that accepts appointment after 1 PM or so.
My only 2 qualms with the place: they aren't allowed to accept tips and they don't blow dry/style your hair. The tip thing may be a plus to some people, as there is no pressure to tip or added cost. But it just made me feel horrible, I couldn't show my appreciation. And the blow dry, not a huge deal especially since I am saving so much money going there, but one of my favorite things about getting my hair done is how great it looks the next 2 days. Now they did of course dry some sections to check how the color developed, but I wish they could have at least round-brushed a little. Overall though, great experience. I am definitely going back!
