| - If you're craving mochi, definitely come here for your fix! I ordered 12 total and had 4 different flavours in the boxes - sesame, mango, strawberry, and houjicha (roasted green tea). I was planning on gifting a box to someone and took a box for myself.
The mochi skins themselves were smooth and had a great texture - similar to biting into a fluffy marshmallow, but better. The fillings for each one varied though. Here's how I would rank the ones I had.
1 - sesame mochi: if you're a fan of black sesame pastries/flavours, I guarantee you'll fall in love with this one. The whipped cream was smooth and with the black sesame paste in the middle, it was a match made in heaven. Really really satisfying. I would get a box of just these ones if I came back.
2 - houjicha mochi: also really good, with a smooth green tea flavour. This was also the one recommended by the shop owner, so it is a must try! I have found that the traditional flavours are a lot better than the fruit mochi I tried.
3 - mango mochi: evident yummy mango flavour inside. I was not 100% sold on whether or not this was artificial. If you're going to get a fruit flavour, I would recommend this one.
4 - strawberry mochi: meh, there was something about the strawberry flavouring that really turned me off from it. Kind of like the strawberry ice cream you'd get from a buffet. I REALLY wanted to like this one because I fell in love with ichigo daifuku when I was in Tokyo, so this was just really disappointing for me. I would avoid getting this one again.
Overall, if you're into sweets or want to get a special present for someone who likes sweets, I'd highly recommend this place! I will probably not be frequenting it even though I live in the area, but it is worth a try.
