We have wanted to stay at Bellagio for years and finally had the opportunity on X-Mas. Unfortunately, the hotel did not live up to our expectations. The room had very recently been remodeled and reeked of new carpet.
The smell was so bad it made our eyes water. When we requested a different room we were rudely told the only thing available was a smaller room with double beds on a smoking floor.
Since that wasn't an option for us we simply chose to live with it. Looking around the hotel it became quite clear that the property was showing it's age - faded awnings in the casino and ripped carpet in places. Given that Bellagio is charging a $20 resort fee that several other hotels are not, we expected more.
