  • I went to Méchant Boeuf for the first time for my boyfriend's mother's birthday. It's at a great location in the Old Port and very easy to find. With the live DJ and great happy hour deals (half off cocktails and $1 oysters), it's a nice place to start the night. The decor was modern and very old port-like, a bit fancy and an older crowd. The food was awesome, and I definitely recommend the burrata entrée to share! I had the lobster gnocchi which was also good, and I tried my boyfriend's filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. They even surprised us with a birthday cake! However, I took off a star because overall, it was too expensive for what it was so I would only come back for the happy hour deals and the groovy music.
