| - I was on vacation in Las Vegas. Nope, I didn't hit that big jackpot at Wynn, where a lady from Hawaii had won $10.7 MILLION on a $3 bet the night before on the slot machine. But I hit the jackpot with choosing this foreign money exchange .... I had free time, and so I decided to take care of getting foreign money for my upcoming trip to Asia. Before I went to the bank to take out U.S. dollars, to exchange them into Chinese Yuan, Singapore dollars and Hong Kong dollars, I decided to stop by the office first. The lady behind the counter patiently answered my questions. I specifically requested the foreign money in small denominations, so that I won't have to hassle with getting change with taxi's while on travel. The lady could not guarantee that she would be able to give me the exchange in small bills, but, she gave me a logical reason: it all depends on what they have in their safe -- the situation changes from day to day; it all depends. So, I went to the the Bank of the West on Sahara, near the Palace Station, and returned to do the exchange. Much to my surprise and satisfaction, the same lady, who had talked to me earlier, took the time in the back office, to make sure that I got lots of small bills for my trip. I am glad that I went there. It just made a very happy start for my big trip. There were no hidden fees. And the exchange rates were very fair. I highly recommend this place. P.S. I exchanged a total of $1,500 U.S. into the foreign money. Any amount above $1,000 U.S., you'd have to show your driver's license and give your social security number -- required by law, and the exchange office records the information in compliance with the law. So, don't be alarmed if you are asked to give your social security number.
