| - I'm not sure if we went on a bad day, or what. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't the same as the majority of other reviewers. I went with three stars because the tortillas were very good, and our server was polite and attentive. Everything else was less than mediocre, which was disappointing since this restaurant has been on my places to try list for months. The chips were fine, the salsa tasted like it was made from canned tomatoes if it was made on site. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't freshly made. We ordered a side of queso, which was only melted velveeta or cheezwiz with green onions on top. It quickly hardened making it difficult to dip chips into, and it would have been nice if there was some salsa or jalapenos mixed in. We split the half order of steak fajitas and added sides of rice and refried beans. The rice was bland, it tasted like plain white rice even the vegetables in it lacked flavor. The beans tasted like they were straight out of the can. The fajitas also lacked flavor. The steak didn't have any seasoning, and tasted old. I don't think it was out of date old, but it tasted like leftover meat. The entire time we were there several prepared plates of garnishes stayed on the warm counter. I'm not so sure it is appropriate to charge $20+ a plate that includes sourcream, cheese, and pico that has been sitting in the open air. I would also expect that the fajitas would be cooked to order. After watching the kitchen for a while, it appears they put the raw onions on a hot skillet and add meat from a prepared bins. After a few minutes the onions are cooked through, but were mostly raw when the plate arrived at our table. This is a cute restaurant, but I don't plan on ever going back.
