  • I went to Pappadeux a few years ago and it was fantastic. The place was nicely appointed, the service was great as was the food and it was worth the price. Recently my husband and I decided to go there for lunch for our anniversary and were disgusted by the negative experience we had there. The place looks more like a cheap Vegas cafeteria now, the carpet is filthy, the silverware was dirty and the service was horrible! Our waitress seated us directly next to the only other people in the place which was ridiculous since the entire restaurant was wide open. The waiter waiting on that table was bringing them bread and going over the menu with them, ours did none of those things. We ordered the fried alligator appetizer which was over seasoned and chewy and when our lunch came it was clear that the catfish my husband ordered had come straight from a bag of frozen fish. The fact that the sauce and butter are served in paper cups at $20 a plate was unreal. The food was cafeteria quality at best my food was inedible. The waitress was rude so I finally asked for the manager who came over made excuses and finally comped the meal. It was a complete waste of time and we both left hungry. I don't know what happened to that place but it has become a terrible restaurant and we will NEVER go back!
