rev:text	2016 Spartan Sprint! This is my second year participating in this race and I'm especially impressed with their consistent organization of this event. The parking was directed well, we handed in our waivers at the registration table under our bib number and got our packets. Then we checked in our bag for $5 (hint: bring a duffel bag and just put everything in one bag). They had the bags arranged by color and number, making things easier for the racers and the volunteers. We got there late and were supposed to be in the 8am heat, but we were just able to start with the next one, which was 8:45. The course is pretty varied; lots or rocks, sand, grass and hills, and all the obstacles along the way. It helps to race with someone so you can help each other out, but most people are friendly and can help you if needed. It was beautiful weather, a bit cold in the morning but lots of sun later, which is necessary since the end of the race requires everyone to dive underwater to reach the end. Yummy snacks at the end! You get water, bananas, Clif bars and this fit drink (not an energy drink). They've got hoses to wash the mud and dirt and two changing rooms for men and women. Food trucks, vendors, Jamba Juice and others were present. They have competitions for pull ups and other events as well, and even a version of the race for kiddos. The one downside is it costs $20 per spectator, which deters us bringing our family. But there's not many places they can watch people compete anyways. Overall, a fun, satisfying race that tests your strength and endurance but most of all, it's a great achievement just finishing it.
