Decided to try out this place & reviews looked good at glance so, I bought a Groupon for 3 microdermabrasion facials.
*Prior to my appointment*
I scheduled & rescheduled my appointment, which wasn't that difficult. I carefully read reviews a day before my appointment & it seemed some clients who bought a Groupon weren't happy with their experience. I wanted to be my own judge. I gave myself 45 mins to ensure I'd get there on time. The drive itself was 35 mins because I live 30 miles away in the NW. While I was on my way, I was thinking I would give a big tip for a good facial. When I got there, there was no signage of this place. I parked & walked upstairs to suite 250.
*At my appointment*
The place itself looked nice. There was no receptionist. The girl who was scheduling & rescheduling was the one who did my facial. She was courteous. My facial started at 1140 am (appointment at 1130). I was going to hide my backpack under the spa bed but there was no space. Then someone outside the door asked if everything was ok in here. I wondered if they had a camera in the room?!
The facial itself lasted about 20 minutes. This was the shorted facial I had ever had. I had gotten a $350 white diamond anti aging microdermabrasion to $70 European facial with microdermabrasion. This was the cheapest & also the worst facial I have ever had. Why was it the worst?
The facial lasted 20 mins. There was no extraction. The microdermabrasion was set to the lowest setting. I could barely feel the micro beads moving thru the tube as it touched my face. The technique was bad. The directions of the strokes should be upwards. The girl didn't do it right. I had foundation when I got there & I still had foundation on my face after I left this place. Obviously the face wash was not effective. I got back in my car realizing my mascara was all over my eyes & under my eyes.
At the end of my appointment, the girl offered to my next appointment. I told her I'd call her to schedule it. I ended up not giving a tip. I will just save myself time for not going there for my next 2 appointments.
Why 2 stars? 1 star earned for courteous service. 1 star earned for a nice & clean spa.
As far as Groupon thing? I think it's misleading & false advertisement. Groupon to me is a way to try out a service. But if they can't provide a full facial service then they should indicate it on the Groupon & they don't. See pic. $14 for $140 facial. Or $34 for a value of $420 (3 microdermabrasion facials). A $140 facial is definitely not a 20 min facial.
