  • I give this place one star because they were open and we were hungry, and it was after 10pm. When we walked in, the server screamed from across the room to ask if we wanted to be seated. This was a bit odd, but whatever.... Another server brought us the menus and after ten minutes, a few glasses if water. Even though we were ready to order, no one came by to check for about 15 minutes. When out order was taken, the original server was confused (I'm assuming from all the bickering going on with the kitchen staff). The restaurant wasn't very busy, but it was very unprofessional. We asked for a side of sweet potato fries, not only was it terrible and flavorless, but the rest of the meal of chicken, ribs, and liver steak was even worse (I have no idea how they could have sunk even lower than the fries). The ribs and chicken had been doused in some sort of sweet gravy to mask its obvious dryness and general lack of flavor (I'm sure it was burnt too, but at that point, no one could tell). So even though we were hungry, we decided to not consume more than a few bites (we couldn't....it'd be like saying.... 'Hey I want good poisoning!'). Besides that, the bread at the beginning was hard and dry, the regular fries epically soggy. We left the entire meal, having consumed the only saving grace....the glasses of water. We paid, and left, and wondered....are ppl writing good reviews about the place sane, cuz for a supposed institution, it was atrocious!
