  • So, I was looking forward to returning to Jack Beagle. I told my husband how good the Turf and Turf Burger was and how that they will give you a portabello mushroom cap on the bun without the beef and bacon. Well, he ordered it that way and ended up with three mushroom slices on a bun. He was still hungry after he ate it and ordered the blue Mac and cheese. When I ordered the portabello burger with no meat, it came with a side, those delightful waffle fries. My husband was shorted. However, I ordered the steak salad. They had a vegetarian option that substituted portabello mushroom slices for steak. I also subbed the garlic ranch dressing for the balsamic vinagrette. With those fried onions and blue cheese crumbles, that had to be one of the best salads I ever had. I have a feeling though that one portabello cap was shared between my salad and my husband's sandwich. So, if someone orders the portabello cap with no meat, please give them them the whole cap as the menu clearly states. They want to have a satisfying meal, too. Vegetarians don't live on air, and they don't like to be cheated. Otherwise, our server was very nice. And, if my salad wasn't so good, the rating would have been lower.
