rev:text	This place is a curious mix of really good and so-so... The good... - I am looking forward to summer, because their outdoor space is fantastic. Right on the river with a great view and some fun activities. - If you are looking for a fun, rowdy vibe in a place that isn't dirty and completely nuts, this is the place. It's a good drinking atmosphere. The so so... - The food. My companion grew up in Germany and wasn't impressed with any of it. As an American, I thought half of what we ordered was really good. Half was really not. The winners were the pretzels with bier cheese, the potato pancakes, and the cob salad. The pork shank with cracklins, the pierogies, sauerkraut, and cabbage were all not so great. - The portions. They must be trying to compete with their ridiculously over-portioned neighbor, the Cheesecake Factory, because every dish we ordered was humongous. Not a lot of healthy options to begin with and the portions are over the top. I recommend sharing for sure. - The music. They had an accordion player in all of the traditional garb. He stopped at prescribed intervals to sing some German song and make a toast. It was cute the first time, but quickly became repetitive. Would probably have been fine if we were there for drinking and not dinner, but as it was, we were sort of over it. A couple of other things to know. - Valet service is $8 and the area where I had to pull it was pretty far from the front door. When leaving, I had to walk out in the rain to get to the valet stand. He told me I could wait inside and he'd come get me, but that was only after I asked. Several people were standing out in the rain waiting for their cars. - If you are there to eat, request a table closer to the bar (and farther from the music). We had to shout to be heard over the accordion.
