  • I've eaten here twice now and each time the food and drinks have been consistently good. Staff are incredibly friendly as well. I like the comfortable seating and decor, both inside and out. At this point I've sampled over half the menu and everything was really good...I think you could order just about anything here and do well for yourself. Additionally, prices are reasonable and portion sizes are good. There are some ways in which they could potentially liven up their menu, make it a bit more exciting, but there's something to be said in New South's reliability in terms of taste and freshness. Of note, I have never had a salad w/ croutons keep so well (as leftovers) until I took home New South's roasted romaine salad in a doggy bag. I saved this salad (w/ it's house made croutons) for lunch the next day fully expecting to end up throwing a soggy mess into our chicken coop as a midday treat for our chooks. Instead I was met with a salad that was just as good as it had been the night before...croutons and romaine were still totally fresh and crunchy/crispy! I'm not sure how this particular salad accomplished what I'd previously assumed to be impossible...I've attempted this same feat for about 25 years now with no luck. To me, this little leftovers coup is a testament to freshness of the ingredients that this restaurant uses!
