  • Since it's recent remodeling, or should I say "repurposing", Madison's Central Library is now up to snuff. You can throw all the buzzwords: sleek, ultramodern, hip, progressive, reactivated, urban, upcycled, reinvented, contemporary, sustainable, green ... They'll all stick. Remodeled using the previously boring building's structure, it has been reborn into a library powerhouse. With it's vast collection of books and other media intact, it has expanded to include multiple participatory art spaces, galleries, study areas, a cafe, and a rooftop native species garden. Check it out the next time you're in town. Inside and out, it's amazing.
