I have the worst luck with water. Every house I have been in out in Las Vegas, the water heater goes out. 5x now. Just bought my house a few months ago and sure enough, water heater starts leaking. I called my home warranty and was referred to Air Pro Master. I am always very skeptical of companies home warranties use cause they usually suck.. a lot. They came out and wrote an estimate the day after I called my home warranty company. They advised they would not be able to get the water heater out without removal of some solid built in shelving units in my garage. I had to call a handyman who advised it would take a few days and several hundred dollars to take the unit out. Instead he cut the metal pole in front of the water heater. Now, why wouldn't they have just said to do that???? Maybe its a regulation, I have no idea. They did refer me to a restoration company as well, but I just went and rented fans at home depot to dry the area out. Arthur came out a few days later to install my new water heater. He did a pretty good job putting it it and was very friendly. I did notice that the post area was cracked from the pressure of how he lifted it on the stand, but its all good. He did a pretty good job and I was overall happy with the work. I ended up paying them out of pocket around $300 for stuff like piping, etc that was not covered under the warranty, but whatever.
