  • Simple, home cooked American fair. Served in huge portions, in a nondescript strip mall behind a gas station. Just north of bustling 19th Ave and Indian School, this family style restaurant has been dishing up delicious meals like chicken fry, pot roast, and steak since 1977. Parking can be a bit difficult, especially if they're busy, but there is a large shopping area next door with a huge parking lot if you don't mind a walk. Each time I have come in I've been seated quickly, though there is clearly a large waiting area when you first walk in, including an old Pac man table top game. Each meal comes with a choice of soup or salad from their salad bar, and one or two sides (mashed potatoes, French fries, mixed veggies, and the like) and each entree is large enough to sate two people's appetite. I've yet to try an appetizer (soup or salad comes immediately after ordering) and I haven't tried any of their deserts though the slices of pie are at least as large as the portion of meat you get with dinner. Quality is good, food is simple but delicious, full bar with cheap beers, and a homie atmosphere. Can be a bit loud and definitely gets busy during the weekday lunch rush but more than worth it for food just like mom used to make (not mine but thankfully someone's haha).
