  • Thanks to Yelp, I won a free admissions ticket and arrived here last week Saturday (10 February 2018). I stayed for about 1.5 hours and wish I had time to stay longer. The event today was for "International Women and Girls in Science Day." There were speakers, documentary showings, and vendors set up throughout the museum. The first floor has the dinosaur display (Tyrannosaurus Rex) which is beautifully laid out. As you move along on the first floor, you will see exhibits on the rise of humans (human evolution) as well as videos highlighting research out in the field. There is also plenty of other things to do and see. What I mostly enjoyed was watching the documentary called "The Bearded Lady Project" which highlights women in the field of Paleontology who wore beards for a photography project to breakdown stereotypes of women working in this area. I loved my first visit to the Museum of Natural History. It is very clean and there is lots to see. I will definitely be back. P.S. You can make this a whole day family trip because there is a restaurant inside and a museum shop. So grab some food and explore the store. I actually browsed through the museum shop which has a nice selection of books, shirts, snacks, water bottles, etc.
