| - I've enjoyed a platter of Halal Guys in 5 different states, the first being New York, followed by Texas, California, Virginia, and now Arizona. If you don't already know, Halal Guys is famous for its standard "chicken/lamb over rice" platter and duo of sauces ("white sauce" and "red sauce") that add all the flavor. No matter which Halal Guys you go to, you're going to be met with these basic options. Yet, every Halal Guys around the U.S. still manages to offer a slightly different taste and overall experience.
At this particular Halal Guys, I recommend the gyro platter over the chicken -- the gyro is plentiful in flavor where the chicken lacks. I also recommend checking the Hooked App before making your purchase, they frequently offer coupons that could score you a discount on your meal and sometimes free baklava, fries, and a drink. If you are going to choose between fries and baklava, I say go for the baklava. Halal Guys offers crinkle-cut fries, a fry that proves time and time again to be a disappointment. Their crisp-to-fluff ratio is nothing short of absurd.
It's not all bad here though, in fact the service here is quite speedy, the location is directly across from ASU, and there is plenty of parking and seating inside. Don't expect it to live up to the hype of NYC Halal Cart, but don't be bummed either --- this location is better than many of the other chains sprouting up around the West Coast.
