  • So the day my elderly father is supposed to be discharged from the hospital I have a conversation with his nurse, Lauren Jenkins, RN and I ask what time will you know that he is getting discharged because I would be driving him home when he was ready. My daughter was standing next to me as I advised Ms. Jenkins. Nurse Jenkins told me that she would know by 3pm. I told her then that I would be back before he was released to go over the discharge info and take my father home. I left the 5th floor to get lunch and go to my fathers home and pick up clothes for him to go home in. When i returned at 4pm I was advised by staff on the 5th floor that they had called my brother to pick him up - EVEN THOUGH MY FATHER WAS AWAKE, TALKING AND DOING VERY WELL AND THE FACT THAT I TOLD NURSE JENKINS THAT I WOULD BE TAKING HIM HOME. The supervisor - - came in and was very snotty telling me that it's Banner Policy to call the contact on file (5th floor). When I told the supervisor that I had told Jenkins I was his ride she said she wasnt' there for that conversation so there was nothing she could do about it. I then got very concerned because apparently the contact information on file at the ER and the contact info available to 5th floor was vastly different. The supervisor made a couple of snide comments and that really was not appropriate then she broke down crying telling me to stop because her grandfather died yesterday and she is upset about it. That she is a human being and a mother and she doesn't deserve me having an issue with a nurse that doesn't pay attention. I told the supervisor that she was not acting very professional and probably should not be a supervisor since she could not handle my issue with her nurse. I advised her that the patient has rights and they should have spoken to my father prior to calling anyone - especially since i had told her I would be back to get him. It would appear that she has a listening issue - The supervisor was crying like a 2year old and then she called security because I should not be having a problem with the way they handle things. I then told the supervisor I would be contacting the Headquarters in Greely, Co and she got hysterical crying and had to leave. Another Lady named Judy came in to help give my father discharge instructions. I don't know what her title is. All in all, this is why I DO NOT USE BANNER FOR ANY OF MY MEDICAL NEEDS BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PATIENT THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE $$. I HAVE HAD SO MANY BAD EXPERIENCES WITH BANNER IT MAKES ME SICK. RUN FAR AND FAST TO DIGNITY HEALTH BECAUSE THEY ARE 4000% BETTER!!!!
