| - While looking for decently priced and well-located hotels on Expedia, I happened upon this one, and decided to give it a try. I don't know much of anything about Toronto, let alone its multiple districts. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find out it was happens to be a 10-minute walk away from Union Station (score, no need for a taxi!), and within walking distance of most places we wanted to check out (i.e. the Eaton Centre, HHOF, The Esplanade, and most of the restaurants). The hotel is a quaint little boutique hotel tucked in between Wellington and King on Yonge St., with a modern and simplistic decor. The rooms, albiet small, are perfect for a short stay. They offer wood flooring (a nice change from the drab carpet featured in many hotels across the country), and very high ceilings offsetting the lack of square-footage. The hotel staff is very nice and they offer to store your bags before or after check-in. We were due to check out on Sunday at 11am, but upon our return from our night out on Saturday, we asked the front desk clerk if it was at all possible to check out later, so as to sleep in a little. He said it wasn't a problem to check out later, and at no cost! We ended up checking out at 1pm, and they held our bags for us no problem until we left for our train at 5pm.
I also appreciated the easily accessibility to the bus/subway/trams; made getting around very easy! And the free wifi!
**TIP: If you go on a weekend and will be travelling around the city by public transit, I would suggest the TTC Day Pass; it costs 10.75$, can be used on the bus, tram or subway and can be used by 2 people.**
For a centrally located hotel in the downtown core, I was surprised at its affordability. I would most definitiely recommend this place to anyone and everyone (who wants to stay downtown Toronto that is!)
