I switched from LVAC to Lifetime because of kids activities. I liked how updated and clean it is and i liked the fact that i can work out while kids are at their classes.
But later i found out that there is no classes for me during my kids classes and overall classes are very limited. I got used to LVAC that almost any time of the day i can find a class to go to.
In Lifetime for many classes i have to pay separately, Pilates is $30 per hour in addition to the membership. There is no Pilates included in membership. It was my biggest disappointment.
Also the class schedule on Lifetime website is a nightmare. Kids classes, adult classes - mixed altogether. If you are trying to find martial arts class for yourself you will find all - for kids and adults, even though you didn't put check box for kids. Its a national wide chain, is it so hard to fix the website?
Basically I'm paying my family rate for indoor pool and indoor tennis for kids, but for myself I decided to keep my membership with LVAC, simply because of the variety of classes.
UPDATE: My kids go to tennis and swimming classes at Lifetime athletic. And I have another unpleasant discovery. Today I was told that i "have to sit and watch" (quote) my kids at their classes. My kids go to plenty other activities outside of Lifetime athletic, like gymnastics, robotics, dance etc. None of the other classes require parents to sit and watch!
