  • 4.5 stars Even just walking past Cigogne, you can feel the class and authenticity of the French patisserie. It's no surprise that I've took every chance I've had to pick up at least one item whenever I'm in the near vicinity. My personal all time favourite is the apricot danish! Nothing else simply comes close for me, and I can simply say I haven't had a better danish anywhere else. The custard is perfect and you can almost say it tastes "fresh" (not a quality that applies to most custards!). The doughy bit tastes like a fresh, soft croissant, and the apricot compote tops it all off! Chocolate brioche, the mini cakes/mousses and savoury pies/quiches are also a safe bet. 0.5 stars is deducted because a)they run out of some items really quickly and so there is no guarantee you will get an item at any particular time (10am is the best bet!). For e.g. after finishing my danish, I went back to buy more today and they were all out (within 30 mins of original visit!) b)sometimes the people behind the counter could be a little nicer!
